BRAINSTORMING IDEA FOR MY PRAGMATICALLY IDEALISTIC 'PROGRESSIVE PROHIBITIONIST RELIGION': URGE CONGRESS TO APPROVE A NEW FEDERAL LAW REQUIRING THAT ALL SHOES SOLD ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES MUST HAVE SLIP-RESISTANT AND OIL-RESISTANT SOLES

The intent behind this proposed new federal law would be very clear:

---to help prevent thousands of medically-injurious accidents each year that would have otherwise been sustained by Americans walking or hiking or working outdoors or indoors.

---to help achieve a long-term reduction in the percentage of all Americans who are confined to a wheelchair or having to rely on a cane or walker in order to move about on foot.

---to help achieve a significant long-term reduction in the total amount of funds that the United States Government and state and local governments spend toward treatment and care of and compensation to persons who sustained an injury after they fell or slipped while walking or hiking or while stationed at their workplace.

---to help achieve a significant long-term reduction in the total number of workers compensation claims that are filed by gainfully employed Americans.

---to help dramatically reduce the total number of fatal accidents that are sustained by Americans as they attempt to hike or walk outdoors or indoors or when they are stationed indoors at a workplace.

One issue that would need to be addressed by the U.S. Congress would be whether certain types of unsafe shoes, such as thongs or sandals or high-heel shoes, should either be banned altogether or should be included among the categories of shoes for which this new federal slip-resistant requirement would be applicable.

One additional federal law that could also help to save thousands of lives each year in this country would be a federal law requiring that all shoes sold in the United States must be orthopedicly designed to promote optimal arch support and comfort and medical benefit to persons wearing those shoes.

This latter federal law could promote good health in the foot and good emotional health for the person wearing an orthopedic shoe, which will also pervasively and comprehensively benefit the overall health and creatively vital longevity of Americans.

It also seems likely that if Americans are not experiencing pain in their feet, with help from this latter proposed new federal law, they will be far less likely to have conflicts with their coworkers or work supervisors at the workplace, or to have conflicts with their spouse or family or roommate at home. And this, in turn, could help to significantly reduce the appallingly high violent crime rate that American society is currently infamous for throughout the entire world.
