Subject: re: why I cannot accept the jury assignment

Dear Travis County District Clerk Velva Price in Austin, Texas,

Today (Tuesday, July 19) I received for the first time from my official key-opened locked mailbox for my specific current apartment unit in Utah a two-sided postcard addressed to me. The postcard was dentified on the front as an "Official Jury Summons" from the Travis County Sheriff in your state capital city for Texas.

Ms. Price, does my not being a current resident of Texas or my being a current permanent resident of Salt Lake City, Utah, have any bearing on whether you or Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez expect me to, or are requiring me to, serve as a juror at a courtroom trial in Austin, Texas?

Thank you in advance for your helpful reply note to me on this.

Sincerely and Best Wishes,
John Kevin McMillan.
My permanent rental-home address ever since June 1, 2022:
Wasatch Manor, 535 South 200 East, Apt. 912, Ninth Floor, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.
My new home phone: (801) 355-0850.
My cell phone number: (512) 993-7305.

P.S. As a courtesy to you, Travis County District Clerk Price and Travis County Sheriff Hernandez, I am also sharing with you two government officials the following quoted information from the postcard I received today:

The front side of the postcard cited the sender as "Sally Hernandez, Travis County Sheriff, P.O. Box 679003, Austin, TX 78767-9003, Phone: (512) 854-9669 Fax: (512) 854-4457"

Directly below the sender's address was the statement: "JUROR NO.: 20210074313"

The postcard was addressed to: "John Kevin Mcmillan, 535 S 200 E Apt 912, Salt Lake City, UT 84111-3629".

The back side of the postcard stated: "You are hereby summoned for jury service."

"Deadline date to respond to this notice is: 07/21/2022".

"By responding online, you may accomplish one of the following:
"---Qualify for jury service and request an assignment that accommodates your schedule
"---Claim an exemption or disqualification
"---Request a postponement

"Please contact the Jury Management Office via email at ijury@traviscountytx.gov
or call (512) 854-9669 if you have any questions.
