(Note: At about 12:00 a.m. Thursday morning, April 3, 2014, crime victim John Kevin McMillan of northwest Austin officially filed a crime report with the Austin Police Department, APD Crime Report Number 140922183, about an incident that reportedly occurred at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014.

In that cited incident, an alleged assailant riding northward in a black older-model Ford or Chevrolet pick-up truck along Research Boulevard a few blocks south of Duval, allegedly and in a brutally deliberate manner threw chunks of ice from that motor vehicle that allegedly struck the abdomen of the victim, John McMillan, as he stood outdoors preparing to walk home from a 24-hour-a-day convenience store where he had been a paying customer a matter of minutes before. That convenience store is situated at the intersection of Thunder Creek and Research Boulevard in northwest Austin.

The official crime report about the incident was filed in person by complainant John Kevin McMillan at about midnight Thursday morning, April 3, 2014, during a visit to Mr. McMillan's rental apartment unit, Apartment 325 at Wind River Crossing Apartments, 11411 Research Boulevard in northwest Austin, by two APD officers: APD Officer Velasquez, APD Badge Number 7564; and APD Officer Parslow, APD Badge Number 6478.--- jkm)

"Mr. McMillan, this is Detective Dunn with the Austin Police Department. I'm calling you in reference to the police report you made on April the 3rd about an incident that occurred on April 2 involving someone throwing ice at you. The incident in itself is a class C misdemeanor, which would be actually filed by the victim himself in municipal court.

"However, there is no suspect information, so locating someone to file a case with would pretty much be an impossibility.

"So I just wanted to touch base with you, and let you know that the case was documented and it will be staying in our reporting system. But there won't be any more follow-up at this point, the case being suspended.

"If you have any questions, you can feel free to call me. My phone number is (512) 974-4913----974-4913.

"Once again, it's Detective Dunn---it's spelled 'D-u-n-n'. Thank you."
