TAMPA POLICE DEPARTMENT'S NOBLY IDEALISTIC OFFICIAL ONLINE MISSION STATEMENT SUGGESTS THE POSSIBLE NEED FOR THE AUSTIN POLICE DEPARTMENT TO EXPAND UPON ITS CURRENT FOUR-WORD ONLINE MISSION STATEMENT

When I visited the official website of the Gulf Coast City of Tampa, Florida, this week, I was impressed by the Tampa Police Department's apparent crime prevention emphasis.

Maybe some crime-prevention-theme non-profit foundation, if there is one, should award financial prizes each year on five or 10 of the municipal police departments of the USA in each citywide population category, that have the most effective and honorable crime-prevention programs.
The Tampa Police Department's official website proudly displays this nobly idealistic official year-round goal in a highlighted boxed-in section on the front page of that website:
"The Mission of the Tampa Police Department is to Reduce Crime and Enhance the Quality of Life Through a Cooperative Partnership with all Citizens."
A smiling photograph of current Tampa Interim Police Chief Ruben Delgado is posted directly to the left of that official mission statement for his entire police force.

Tonight I decided to review the Austin (TX) Police Department's front page of its official website to see whether there is a highlighted "mission" for APD in this state-capital city for Texas that is as nobly idealistic as the one championed by the Tampa Police Department.
The comparable "front-page" official mission statement currently sponsored by the Austin Police Department has an apparent need for clarification. The mission statement from APD on its front page currently states: "One Austin, Safer Together".
That apparently official credo of the Austin Police Department raises the question of whether individuals who are seeking to prevent stalkers from breaking into their own rental-apartment unit at nighttime will feel reassured by that slogan. I, for one, am one current criminal-law complainant and self-identified home-invasion-crimes victim at nighttime who values being APART from criminal persons here in Austin.
I DO NOT agree to ever attend a "solidarity rally" attended by persons who admit to having illegally entered my double-bolt-locked solo-occupancy efficiency apartment unit during my bedtime hours. I always sleep alone on my own bed, and I value my legal right to keep anyone and everyone away from my apartment unit at nighttime.
