Dear Utah State House Majority Leader Mike Schultz,

In response to your November 27, 2023 (correction by me on cited date), e-mail letter to me, I am also concerned about the possibility that the copyrighted online "Utah History Encyclopedia" may not be currently up-to-date and fully complete.

Utah House Majority Leader Schultz, I am  hopeful that you will be willing to ask the Utah State House to please authorize funding for  semiannual or annual or monthly  updating of the online "Utah History Encyclopedia" on a continuing basis.

Regular  updating of that copyrighted online reference book will help strengthen its role as an invaluable source of factual information about Utah and Utahns.

 That fully up-to-date  information will be extremely useful for librarians, historians, journalists,  teachers, parents, schoolchildren, high school students, college students, researchers, state legislators and other government officials, attorneys, law enforcement officers, voters, civic groups, businesses, public speakers,  religious groups, political groups,  news media organizations, visitors to Utah, admirers of Utah in other U.S. states, and admirers of Utah in foreign nations.

That encyclopedia was reportedly "the first complete history of Utah in encyclopedia form, consisting of 575 articles and over 200 historic photographs," as the online version of that copyrighted encyclopedia notes at their current website (online link, above).

"Maintenance" of that copyrighted website --- and that "maintenance" apparently does not currently involve  full and regular editing and  revision and updating of the encyclopedia ----is now reportedly managed by the first-rate "Utah Education Network-UEN".

The copyrighted encyclopedia was originally published as a hardcover book  in 1994 by the University of Utah Press in Salt Lake City.

That encyclopedia included contributions from dozens of scholars of Utah history and was compiled in preparation for Utah's centennial celebration that occurred in 1996.

Thank you in advance, House Majority Leader Schultz,  for giving consideration to this urgent  request on behalf of fully updating   the "Utah History Encyclopedia" and making it a fully authoritative and fully reliable, factually accurate continuing  source of vital factual information for all Utahns and all  scholars of Utah.
