Dear Captain Hutsell,
Thank you for your very prompt follow-up letter (below) to me on this. Your follow-up letter again indicates that you have identified a public-information request from me----which I had directed to a State of Texas agency, and courtesy-carbon-copied to your State of California agency---for which you might have responsive legal documents on file with your State of California law-enforcement agency's Office of Risk Management in Sacramento.
Your reply letter states that you may need as many as 24 working days from your September 27, 2021, date of receipt of my public-information request in order to send me a written response stating whether any responsive legal documents have been located in your Office of Risk Management's files that refer to myself or to my Progressive Prohibitionist Religion.
Thank you again, Captain Hutsell, for your very diligent and conscientious style on behalf of your California Highway Patrol Office of Risk Management in Sacramento.
Sincerely and Best Wishes,
John Kevin McMillan, public-information requestor.

Attention: Mr. John McMillan
The California Highway Patrol, Office of Risk Management, Public Records Unit (PRU), received your California Public Records Act request on September September 27, 2021.
In your request, you asked for the following:
“This is a Texas Open Records request in which I seek to obtain from you a copy of any and all e-mail communications or other written communications referring at least once in any manner to myself or to my 'Progressive Prohibitionist Religion', that at any time since January 1, 2011, were authored, typed, handwritten, sent, received, mailed, forwarded, e-mailed, or FAXed by the General Counsel for your state agency or by any other attorney or staff member or administrator in your state agency's Office of the General Counsel.”
The PRU is determining whether you seek copies of disclosable public records in the Department’s possession. Accordingly, the PRU is extending its 10-day response timeframe by an additional 14 days, as authorized by Government Code section 6253, subdivision (c)(1).
Once a determination has been made, you will be notified if any responsive records are available and of the cost to obtain them.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the Public Records Unit at (916) 843-4030.
Sincerely,
(A signature containing a handwritten name, followed by the word "for")
M. R. HUTSELL, Captain
Commander
Office of Risk Management
