"'a copy of any and all e-mail correspondence or letters or memoranda or reports or crime reports or court rulings or other written documents received or generated or written or authored or sent or forwarded or FAXed by any official or officer or staff member of the University of Texas at Austin Police Department at any time since 12:01 a.m. April 17, 2011, and that, in each and every such case, refers at least once in any manner to myself, John Kevin McMillan of Austin.

"EXCLUDED from the scope of this public-information request are any and all documents that were authored exclusively and solely by myself, John Kevin McMillan of Austin.'

"The enclosed information is provided in response to your request at no cost. Note that we have made the following redactions as permitted under the Texas Public Information Act and (previously-issued) Texas Attorney General opinions..."

"However, please note that our office objects to release of the remaining information in the report you requested. Accordingly, we have asked the University of Texas System's Office of General Counsel to seek a ruling from the Office of the Attorney General to permit our office to withhold the remainder of this report under section 551.107(1) of the Texas Public Information Act. You will receive a copy of the Office of the General Counsel's brief, as well as a copy of the Attorney General's ruling.
