Dear Open Records Coordinator for the State Comptroller of Texas state agency in Austin,
Thank you for your reply letter to me today in response to my public-information request that you apparently officially received at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 20, 2021.
I would like to respectfully point out that the scope of my public-information request did not, in fact, exclude any of the written communications that your state agency's General Counsel Operations & Support Legal Services Office sent to me during the applicable period from April 1, 2011, through 8 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2021.
Instead, the scope of my request excluded "any and all e-mail communications that were directly e-mailed by me to any staff member employed in your state agency's General Counsel Operations & Support Legal Services Office (emphasis added here today through bold-facing and insertion of larger type size by me)".
The most pertinent two paragraphs of my public-information request had been:
"I am seeking a copy of any and all e-mail communications or other written communications referring to me in any manner or context, that were each written, received, sent, or FAXed by or to any staff member, attorney, or administrator employed in your state agency's General Counsel Operations & Support Legal Services Office at any time since April 1, 2011.
"EXCLUDED from the scope of this public-information request are any and all e-mail communications that were directly e-mailed by me to any staff member employed in your state agency's General Counsel Operations & Support Legal Services Office."
Please provide me as soon as possible with a copy of any and all applicable written communications that your state agency has directly sent to me during the time period from April 1, 2011, through 8 a.m. September 20, 2021.
