Dear Honorable Government Officials, Law-Enforcement Agency Officers, and Political and Cultural Leaders,
I was very pleased this Friday, November 27, 2020, to receive in my apartment-unit mailbox U.S. Postal Service mail-delivery today an official carbon-copy letter directly addressed to me that had been mailed to me at my current Pebble Creek Apartments mailbox address in northeast Austin by the Attorney General of Texas in Austin.
That carbon-copy was a two-page November 23, 2020-dated official legal letter from the Attorney General of Texas (OAG) to Texas Department of Public Safety state agency Assistant General Counsel Michele Freeland that specifically referred to me by name at the very end of that legal letter.
That legal letter on official OAG stationery cited the alleged failure by the Texas DPS state law-enforcement agency headquarters in north Austin to respond "appropriately" to a public-information request I myself had submitted to the DPS several months ago:

"The Public Information Act (the 'Act'), chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code, generally requires a government body to release requested public information that it collects, assembles, maintains, or has right of access to, or to request a ruling from the OAG as to the applicability of exceptions to the Act.
Our records do not indicate a request for an OAG ruling has been made in accordance with section 552.301 of the Act.
"Although the OAG has civil enforcement authority under the Act, our office prefers to work with governmental bodies and requestors to resolve complaints informally. The easiest way to resolve this open records complaint is to release the requested information, provided the information is not confidential by law.
"Please provide a written response to this letter within 10 business days. See 1 T.A.C. 70.11(d)(3) (governmental body has a responsibility under the Act to respond). A certification form is enclosed with this letter in order to expedite your response. Each of my two separate complaints against the DPS that I submitted to the OAG on or about October 1 related to the alleged failure of the DPS to provide me with any written reply to a 2020-dated public information request of mine.
