Subject: OAG seeks to withhold attorney docs re: my current OAG Open Records complaint vs TX DPS Office of Genl Counsel
From: John Kevin McMillan, current public-information requestor and current Open Records complainant.
My solo-occupancy efficiency rental-apartment unit home address ever since June 21, 2019:
Pebble Creek Apartments (a Belco Equities-affiliated gated-community complex), 8805 North Plaza Drive, Building 17, Apt. 2418, Austin, TX 78753.
My home phone: (512) 342-2295. My cell phone: (512) 993-7305.
November 3, 2020 (Election Day).
A respectful FYI to each of you on the very surprising e-mail reply letter and attached legal documents I received today (final items, below) from the Attorney General of Texas (OAG) here in Austin on an October 26, 2020, public-information request of mine to the OAG. That public-information-request of mine has been assigned by OAG an official ID number of R007038-102620.
My cited public-information request, as directly acknowledged to me by the OAG through an e-mail reply letter I received from the OAG on October 26, 2020, is: "Records Requested: All written communications produced or received by the OAG that refer to either or both of the two current respective Open Records complaints against the Texas Department of Public Safety state agency that on or about October 1, 2020, I (John Kevin McMillan of Austin) filed online, and through accompanying e-mails. Included in the scope of this request are any and all OAG-generated ID numbers assigned to each of those two respective Open Records complaints from me against the DPS, and each OAG legal letter to the Texas DPS that referred to either complaint from me."
Today's OAG reply e-mail letter and OAG attachments (see final items, below) each refer to the Texas OAG seeking an official ruling from an attorney in the Texas Attorney General's Office Open Records Division on cited documents responsive to the above-cited October 26-received public-information request of mine to the OAG.
The Attorney General of Texas Open Records Division (see attachments, below) is currently seeking to withhold from me copies of recent OAG-generated communications referring to me that involve OAG attorneys.
I had submitted my October 26, 2020, Open Records request (ORR) to the OAG after the OAG over a multi-week period had failed to provide me --- for each of my two current Open Records complaints against the Texas DPS Office of General Counsel here in Austin --- with either an official Open Records complaint identification number (as OAG on its own initiative routinely has done for me in recent years on Open Records complaints of mine) or a carbon-copy of an OAG letter informing the cited state-government agency about my most recent Open Records complaint against the latter state agency.
The first few paragraphs of each of two cited separate respective 2020-dated Open Records requests of mine to the DPS in regard to which the DPS Office of General Counsel in each case chose over a multi-month to not send me ANY reply note of any type even after I directly sent the DPS OGC several polite reminder e-mail notes (one of which offered a spring of 2020 correction and clarification to the first paragraph of my February 21, 2020, PIR in regard to the DPS Texas Rangers Division and me), are as follows:
