"The 10-year-old ARIC is reportedly managed by the Austin Police Department. ARIC reportedly comprises a collaborative effort by numerous governmental public-safety agencies in Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties. ARIC reportedly focuses on four primary areas for gathering and sharing crime evidence among law-enforcement agencies:
(1) Serial crime, including serial criminal incidents involving serial robbers or serial sex offenders;
(2) Organized Criminal activity, including narcotics smuggling or human trafficking;
(3) Terrorist activities;
(4) Information sharing among the various Austin-region governmental public safety partners.
