THE PLEA TO THE NEWS MEDIA THAT I SENT OUT TODAY, SEEKING ASSISTANCE ON PUTTING AN END TO ALLEGED HOME-INVASION-CRIMES VICTIMIZING ME DURING MY SLEEPING HOURS AS I LIE ALONE ON MY OWN BED INSIDE MY SOLO-OCCUPANCY ALWAYS-FULLY-LOCKED APARTMENT UNIT IN AUSTIN, TEXAS, USA

Below is a plea I sent to the news media today, in the hope that at least one of these media companies will send a friendly reply note to this particular former longtime newspaper reporter and magazine reporter---myself:

Dear Highly-Esteemed News Media Professionals, Civic Leaders, and Cultural Leaders,

Here's additional confirmation (below) for each of your crime-deterrence-minded news media companies and each of you admirable civic leaders and cultural leaders that I received the following very encouraging reply letter from the Austin (TX) Police Department Special Investigations Unit on June 16, 2020.

As a former full-time newspaper or magazine reporter in Texas, Minnesota, Florida, and Massachusetts, respectively, I would appreciate a reply letter from any of you that conveys very kind support by your media company for my own legal right and human right to myself keep anyone and everyone other than myself AWAY FROM any portion of the interior of my always-bolt-locked-and-always-fully-locked solo-occupancy rental-efficiency apartment unit in Austin throughout the entirety of my sleeping hours at nighttime as I lie ALONE, asleep and unconscious and probably snoring, on a bed I myself own!

I always sleep ALONE on my own bed, and I am a longtime celibate-by-choice (including on a continuous and uninterrupted basis ever since the day I moved to the northern section of Austin, Texas, in August 2001), permanently-drinking-alcohol-free (ever since 1990) and never-previously-addicted, permanently-marijuana-free (ever since 1984) and anti-marijuana-minded and never-previously-addicted, lifelong-illicit-drug-free in regard to any and all illicit-drugs other than marijuana, dependably civil and law-abiding and very honest, lifelong-tobacco-free and anti-tobacco-minded, platonicly polite, consistently clean-talking (no profanity by me in my everyday conversations with others), lifelong-tattoo-less and anti-tattoos-minded, single adult white non-Hispanic Anglo-Saxon gentleman of English, Scottish, and German ancestry.

I would also welcome any inquiries or other reply notes from any of your very influential media companies.

Sincerely and Best Wishes,
former Society of Professional Journalists dues-paying individual member John Kevin McMillan.

Good morning Mr. McMillan --
I received approximately 76 emails from you since our phone conversation on June 12, 2020. Due to the volume of the communications, in conjunction with our limited resources due to the current events related to the Covid-19 pandemic and public protests, I am writing this message to respectfully request that you refrain from sending any additional emails at this time. To be forthright, the quantity received thus far is more than plenty and it is imperative that my limited capacity be not overwhelmed.

As a friendly reminder, the scope of the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is to investigate criminal incidents which meet particular criteria which includes, but is not limited to: crimes committed by any sworn officer(s) or City of Austin employees where the offense has occurred within the APD jurisdiction. Therefore, should a determination be made that any of these leads evolve into a need for more information, you will be contacted accordingly.

Kind regards,
Roberto Aranda
Administrative Senior
City of Austin – Austin Police Department
