Subject: Re: unwanted kids increase spawning crime increase

Dear Utah State Representatives Joel Briscoe and Angela Romero and Utah State Senator Jenn Plumb,

Are any of you highly esteemed elective officials here in Utah concerned about the likelihood  that the current ban on abortions here in Utah will spawn a massive long-term  increase in the number of unwanted  children being born here in Utah from unwanted pregnancies?

Are any of you State officials also concerned that many of the unwanted babies being born in Utah this year and in future years will be either abandoned or neglected or abused or raped or murdered during their infancy or elementary school years or teenage years  by one or more parents of theirs who did not want that child?

Do any of you State officials agree with the  finding from a recent study I  have read about  that children who are neglected or abused by their parents are significantly more likely to pursue a life of crime during their teenage and adult years  than are  children who are not abused by their parents?

Do any of you elected officials also agree that many of the unwanted children who will be born in Utah this year, for instance,  will be raised in a low-income household that is financially unable to provide adequately for that child?

Are  any of you elected officials concerned that the increased crime rate and increased incidence of poverty resulting from unwanted children in financially challenged households here in Utah will incur a massive increase in state and local government social services and law-enforcement-related and criminal rehabilitation services  spending that will also require significant tax increases here in Utah?

If your answer to one or more of these questions is "yes", what do you believe the public-policy implications are for the Utah Legislature and State Government of Utah?

Finally, I would like to thank State Representative Romero for having talked with me on the telephone last year. As of today, September 2, 2023, Rep. Romero and then-State Senator Derek Kitchen, who spoke with me on the phone in 2022, are or were  the only elected  State officials of Utah  who have been willing to talk with me on the telephone.

I hope to receive a reply letter on these questions from any of you State of Utah officials in the very near future.

Sincerely and Best Wishes,

John Kevin McMillan, a white alcohol-free, tobacco-free, single adult gainfully employed registered voter and a permanent resident of Utah ever since January 1, 2023.
