Dear Mr. John Kevin McMillan,
The Austin Police Department (APD) received a Public Information request from you on November 26, 2021, to request copies of records pertaining to the following:
“I am seeking one copy each for any currently applicable Austin Police Department (APD) legal documents or records that cite the full legal names or full legal name and officer ranks or rank ---Lieutenant, Detective, or Sergeant, for instance---of each of the Austin Police Department state-certified peace officers whose job duties in calendar year 2021 have included or currently include deployment of decibel-reading technology in the investigation of noise pollution complaints to APD or the City Government of Austin by any of the following: private citizens, visitors in Austin, famous persons, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of for-profit corporations, realtors, landlords, non-profit organizations, religious groups, civic groups, political-action groups, student groups, public figures, State Government of Texas officials, U.S. Government officials, Travis County Government officials, City Government of Austin officials, University of Texas System officials, University of Texas at Austin officials, Austin Community College officials, Texas A&M University System officials, Austin Independent School District officials, Round Rock Independent School District officials, private employers, public officials, or any other persons or entities, respectively.”
In order for APD to begin processing your request, we need additional clarification.
Please advise if what you are seeking is a list of names of peace officers who investigate noise pollution when APD used a decibel reader in 2021?
If you would like for the APD to proceed with your public information request, please provide clarifications within sixty (60) calendar days from 12/01/2021. Otherwise, the APD will consider your request closed/withdrawn.
Upon receipt of your clarification, the APD will further respond to your Public Information Act Request as required by law, including providing you with an estimate of costs associated with producing the requested records.
If you have any questions, please contact my office at (512) 974-5499.
Thank you for contacting the Austin Police Department.
