Subject: Re: Urgent need for graffiti-prevention strategy

Dear Very Distinguished Cap Metro Board of Directors Members,
A CORRECTION: This highlighted Cap Metro bus stop (bottom photo, below) in front of an apartment complex in north Austin (TX) is located along West Rundberg Lane, three or four blocks EAST of Metric Boulevard. I cannot recall the ID number on this bus stop and am not currently able to see that ID number from examining the photo I took this morning. The trash bin in the photo is owned by Cap Metro public mass-transit service here in Austin, Texas, and apparently contains the Cap Metro logo on that bin, though I am not able to find that logo when I currently examine the photo I took this morning with my cell phone. The design and color of the bin are definitely the design and color used for Cap Metro trash bins.

The widespread and very unsightly conspicuous presence of anonymous written communications, in the form of very reckless and flagrantly illegal scrawled graffiti messages and etchings on public property throughout much of north Austin, may also play a role in the perpetration of other anonymous verbalized communications in north Austin. They include outrageous and unconscionable verbalized death threats against north Austin residents.

This is why I maintain that a successful and multi-faceted graffiti-prevention policy in Austin, Texas, and Travis County, Texas, will significantly help to reduce other types of anonymous crimes here that comprise brutal felony crimes----including violent stalking-related activities and home-invasion-crimes that are committed by allegedly very sly and very sinister persons.

Also attached are two other crime-evidence photos I took today in north Austin that reveal the outrageous manner in which  graffiti-crimes perpetrators in this section of town make a daily mockery of the noble theme of "law and order". I maintain that a citywide devotion to law-and-order and civility at all times is very crucial for protecting the citywide credibility of our state-capital city that every two years hosts legislative sessions for our U.S. state's highest-ranking and most influential governing body.

The second photo (top photo, above) was taken by me this afternoon (July 4) at Cap Metro's North Lamar Transit Center, located near the intersection of North Lamar Boulevard and Research Boulevard in north Austin. Some criminal-mischief perpetrator allegedly scrawled "DIFRNT" (incorrect spelling for the word "different") a matter of inches above a posted Cap Metro warning sign which stated that "consumption of any alcoholic beverage at this location is prohibited..." To the left in that same photo, you will also find another anonymously intrusive "message" that appears to be a "personal" note for an unknown recipient that contains the words "you" and the word "I', accompanied by a symbol for a star.

The third photo, (lower photo, above), was taken by me this Sunday afternoon (July 4) at the Cap Metro bus stop along Research Boulevard, a few blocks west of Burnet Road. On the post for that Cap Metro route display sign for Cap Metro route-383 buses, some allegedly sly and outrageously intrusive mischief-perpetrator allegedly etched "ZAIRE (?) BFI". The meaning of that cryptic message---possibly an allegedly dyslexic male person declaring himself ("I") to be the "BF" (boyfriend) of an African-American lady named Zaire?----is a complete mystery.

I hope to hear from you soon in regard to graffiti-prevention-strategies on Cap Metro properties that are being pursued by Cap Metro or any applicable law-enforcement agency.

Best Wishes,
former Texas Department of Public Safety state-law-enforcement-agency full-time employee and former full-time professional newspaper reporter John Kevin McMillan. I am alarmed by this additional graffiti crime evidence (photo I took this morning, July 4, at a bus stop along northern side of Rundberg Lane south of Metric Blvd.) of a possible illicit youth gang's attempted takeover or occupation of a Cap Metro bus stop in north Austin.
Has Cap Metro teamed up with law enforcement agencies to develop a graffiti-prevention strategy for any and all Cap Metro-owned properties in the Austin area of Texas?

Best Wishes,
 John Kevin McMillan.
