CITY OF AUSTIN LAW DEPARTMENT'S STILL-UNANSWERED AUGUST 19, 2020, SIGNED OFFICIAL REQUEST FOR A RULING FROM THE TEXAS ATTORNEY GENERAL IN REGARD TO ME, HAS PROMPTED A FOLLOW-UP PUBLIC-INFORMATION REQUEST FROM ME THIS EVENING FOCUSED EXCLUSIVELY ON THE CITY LAW DEPARTMENT AND ME

Below is my most recent public-information request focused on the City of Austin Law Department and me---a request I've submitted online at the City of Austin website at 8:08 p.m. today (Friday, October 9, 2020).

I decided to submit this follow-up public-information request to the City of Austin after my most recent prior request of that type to the City of Austin Law Department, submitted by me online at the City of Austin website at 1:30 a.m. August 6, 2020, prompted an assistant city attorney of Austin to then send an August 19, 2020-dated signed legal letter to Attorney General Paxton that sought official permission from the Attorney General for the City to withhold from me several or more very recent cited responsive legal documents on file with the City Attorney's Office that each refer to me by name.

As of today, October 9, 2020, the Attorney General of Texas has not yet responded in writing to City of Austin Law Department Assistant City Attorney Zachary Brown's August 19, 2020-dated signed legal letter of appeal to that state agency in Austin, according to information provided to me online today at my public-information requests center portal at the City of Austin's official website.

That August 19-dated signed official two-page legal letter from the City of Austin Law Department to Attorney General Paxton contained the following statement:
"The information at issue consists of e-mail communications (each of them referring at least once in any manner to public-information requestor John Kevin McMillan of Austin) between attorneys in the City's Law Department and City employees in their capacity as client representatives. These communications were made in order to facilitate the rendition of legal services to the City. These communications were intended to be confidential and have remained confidential. According, the City may withhold the information under Section 552.107(1) of the Government Code."
