Mr. McMillan,

Thank you for your email. So that I’m clear on your question; are you saying that a portion of your bedroom and/or bathroom wall is open and accessible to an adjoining apartment?

Dear Mr. Wilcox,

Is it in violation of city ordinances or the City of Austin building code or otherwise in violation of the law in any way if any of the walls in the private bedroom or private bathroom of my current rental apartment unit actually move at any time and actually open up into an adjoining apartment unit or an adjoining hidden compartment of some type?

I am posing this question to you after being informed on the telephone several months ago by a spokesman for ADT, my home-security system provider, that the vibrations on walls of my bedroom that I had observed in several of the motion-sensitive infrared camera images obtained during my sleeping hours, signify that the those walls abutting my bed are actually moving, according to that ADT representative.

Sincerely and Best Wishes,

John Kevin McMillan.

Dear City of Austin Public Information Coordinator,

Would you please provide me with the name of the chief City of Austin building code inspector?

Also, please forward the following question from me to that individual holding the position of chief City of Austin building code inspector:

Is it in violation of city ordinances or the City of Austin building code or otherwise in violation of the law in any way if any of the walls in the private bedroom or private bathroom of my current rental apartment unit actually move at any time and actually open up into an adjoining apartment unit or an adjoining hidden compartment of some type?
