The above-cited link is to a report published in 2018 entitled, "New study: the 50 best cities to #OptOutside" The online report on that study's findings is written by a non-profit group named "The Trust for Public Land".

The 2018 report contained results of a recent study that identified the 50 best cities of the United States. San Francisco, Boston, and New York City are among the largest cities that made the top 50 list.

The Texan cities of Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Lubbock,
Amarillo, Tyler, Corpus Christi, and Beaumont are all conspicuously absent from the list of top 50 cities and towns. And all other municipalities of Texas are also absent from that "top 50" list.

For the recent study, cities and towns in the U.S. were ranked based on the following criteria:

"We examined how many acres of public land residents of the 200 largest cities can reach within a 60-minute drive—since for working parents, or families without cars, anything further away is essentially out of reach. We also counted up how many people in each city have a neighborhood park within a 10-minute walk of home.

From that analysis, we identified the 50 best American cities to #OptOutside."
