Subject: 9-26-19 re: urgent need for pressure-washing of sidewalks
Dear District 4 Representative Casar of the Austin City Council,
I was informed on the telephone this week by a very helpful 311 telephone information service staff member that regardless of whether there has been a shortage of rainfall here in Austin, the City of Austin does permit and authorize pressure-washing of any and all public sidewalks in this city on a year-round basis.
As you must be very aware, many of the public sidewalks in north Austin, the section of Austin where I reside, are badly stained from a variety of sources, including from food stains and beverage stains and grease and dirt, and are visually unattractive.
Council Member Casar, is there anything you can do to help get increased pressure-washing of all public sidewalks throughout your entire district, including along Rundberg Lane and North Lamar Boulevard in north Austin?
Also, is there anything you as my District 4 representative can do to insist that the owners of parking lots for commercial real-estate properties in Austin please have their parking lots pressure-washed on a more frequent basis than at present?
Thank you in advance for your prompt reply note to me on this.
Sincerely and Best Wishes,
