A RECOMMENDED CATEGORY FOR A PERSONAL FILE IN YOUR FILING CABINET AT HOME: 'POSSIBLY OR POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT OR NOTEWORTHY ACQUAINTANCES FILE'

There are dozens of logical reasons why it makes sense for you to maintain a file in your personal filing cabinet inside your home or apartment that contains the full legal name, including the middle name, of each of your new acquaintances or previous acquaintances or current and previous coworkers or work supervisors or apartment complex staff members or neighbors.

That list should also include some information about each individual --- such as how you met them, their favorite cuisine, their favorite hobbies, their favorite political causes, their strengths and weaknesses, the foreign languages they could speak, what you admired the most about them, etc. --- that you might help you to refresh your memory whenever you review your list of acquaintances from your own life.

--Many of your best prospective new friends might come from that group of individuals who were or are acquaintances of yours such as neighbors, coworkers, work supervisors, landlords, friendly employees in businesses you especially like, etc.

---Some of your current or former acquaintances might be persons with whom you enjoyed playing tennis. Even if they reside in a city other than your own, you might want to look them up and invite them to play tennis with you during your next business trip or leisuretime trip to the city where they live.

--Some of your acquaintances might be talented cooks or chefs who had hosted you at a dinner party, and you are finding that you would like to ask them for a recipe for one of the dishes they served that you particularly enjoyed.

---Some of your current or previous acquaintances might pursue interesting and creative hobbies that you yourself would like to pursue in your leisuretime. If you have the full legal name of an acuaintance fitting that description, it will be easier for you to send them an E-mail note or give them a phone call and ask them for suggestions on how you, too, could develop the hobby of raising bobwhite quail in the backyard of your home.

---Some of your current or previous acquaintances might be persons who, years later, you decide you admire and appreciate a lot more than during the period when you associated with them in person. That type of "I appreciate you more today" awareness might make for a nice greeting card that you could mail to that individual. And if you can afford to, you could either offer to treat that individual to a nice meal in a restaurant or cook a meal yourself for him or her. Or, if you can afford it, you could purchase a thoughtful present for that individual and mail that to him or her at their current mailing address.

---If you ever land a new job as a talent scout or if you ever own or manage a business in your career, you will want to review your computer file or filing-cabinet file of your various acquaintances. Some of them might be individuals you would like to reward with an employment offer or consulting fee through your career as a talent scout or business executive.

---If you yourself are ever victimized by crime, it could be a life-saver to you if you could provide your attorney or a law-enforcement agency investigator with the full legal names of each of the previous or current acquaintances of yours who had either expressed concern to you about your being a victim of crime or expressed interest in your being a victim of crime, or stated to you that they know someone who MIGHT have exhibited alleged possible criminal intent toward yourself.
Also, you will want to provide your attorney or a law-enforcement agency investigator with the full legal name of each person who appeared to exhibit animosity toward you, and might therefore be a possible crime suspect in any police or FBI investigation.

--- If you ever decide to write an autobiography or personal memoirs, you may want to contact previous acquaintances of yours for their recollection about a particular incident from your life that you might choose to include in your autobiographical account.
