This Holiday Season, I would like to wish for each and every one of the children of the United States the following:
---the opportunity to learn a new creative skill, or strengthen a current creative skill that you already have, this Holiday Season.
----the opportunity to write your most thoughtful and idealistic and helpful New Year's Resolutions for yourself that you have ever written in your entire life.
You can make your New Year's Resolutions all the more helpful to you by first doing some research on the Internet about the history of New Year's Resolutions. You can also pursue some resarch on the Internet, through a Google search, about the potential benefit to a person from writing personal New Year's Resolutions.
---the opportunity to do more reading in your home about the one subject or class topic from your studies at school that you feel the LEAST confident about, or you currently enjoy the least.
----the opportunity to do more reading in your home about the one subject from your studies at school that you feel the MOST confident about, or you currently enjoy the MOST.
----the opportunity to write and mail Holiday-Season letters or greeting cards to some or several of the famous or prominent persons whom you admire.
You can obtain the mailing address for each of those famous or prominent persons with help from a reference librarian at your local public library.
Otherwise, you could search online for a website address for that famous or prominent person, and you could write and send that individual a nice E-mail note of appreciation. In your E-mail note, you could even ask that celebrity to please send you an autographed photograph of that individual. That autographed photograph or poster can help to inspire you in your creative pursuits and studies.
Before you provide that famous person with your family's home mailing address, you should definitely obtain prior and explicit permission from your parents on that.
---the opportunity to pursue indoor sports, such as table tennis (ping pong) or bowling or tennis in an indoor tennis court, roller skating, or swimming in an indoor pool, with prior permission from your parents.
---the opportunity to help prepare at least one culinary dish in your parents' kitchen, with one of your parents supervising that enjoyable cooking project for you.
---the opportunity to help your mother or father wash the dirty dishes after a meal.
---the opportunity to pursue helpful chores around your family's home that you don't normally do.
---the opportunity to learn more about how the Holiday Season or Christmas Season is celebrated in other countries of the world.
---the opportunity to get to know at least one of your relatives better.
---the opportunity to practice the art of conversation through longer and more thoughtful and idealistic personal conversations you might pursue with friends and relatives of yours.
---the opportunity to pursue special outings with an adult relative of yours, such as through special trips to a museum or live-theater playhouse or sporting event or other cultural event.
---the opportunity to accompany an adult relative of yours on a visit to a store or import house that sells handcrafted goods from numerous foreign countries.
Your enjoyment of those handcrated items, along with imported manufactured items from foreign countries you find in that store, might inspire you to savor the "World Peace" and "World Harmony" theme this Holiday Season.
---the opportunity to experience the joy of giving a nice present to at least one relative or friend of yours.
---the opportunity to sing or listen to numerous Holiday Season carols, and to decide for yourself which of those songs or carols is your favorite.
---the opportunity to write down the lyrics of your all-time favorite Holiday Season or Christmas carol or song, and to memorize that carol or song.
---the opportunity to learn more about the subject of world peace, and why the Holiday Season is a good time for helping to promote world peace.
---the opportunity to reflect on whether you agree with the following observation: "World Peace and Harmony begin in your own home."
---the opportunity to ask yourself, "What do I admire the most or like or love the most about each of my relatives and friends and classmates and teachers?"
---the opportunity to read at least one fictional book or non-fiction book that highlights and celebrates the Holiday Season or Christmas Season.
---the opportunity to read more about the history of Santa Claus or Saint Nicholas.
---the opportunity to read more about the history of Christmas as a holiday in which the good or benevolent children are traditionally rewarded by Santa Claus, while the "bad" or "naughty" children are traditionally punished by Santa Claus.
