One of the most revealing sociological projects that could possibly be pursued in the United States of today would compile reliable statistical estimates on the percentage of all Americans in each cited noteworthy religious denomination, by denomination, who have themselves consumed any quantity of marijuana or any other illicit drug at any time in the most recent two-year period.
That type of ranking of American religious groups would be an eye-opener for millions of Americans, and would help to clarify which religious clergymen have been shockingly reprehensible in their failure to provide effective anti-drug education programs to persons who are self-identified members of that religious denomination.
Among the religious denominations or religion-related groups that I myself suspect might be identified in a survey of this type as having the highest per-capita incidence of illicit-drug consumption by members of that denomination are: Metropolitan Community Church, a Christian religious denomination in this country that caters to those gay and homosexual and lesbian and bisexual and transsexual and transvestite adult Americans who on their own volition each choose to become individual members of that particular Christian denomination; the Roman Catholic Church; the Unitarian Universalist Association; the American Atheist Association; possibly the Reform Judaism denomination; and possibly the Independent Baptist Church.
The ONLY religious denomination of which I myself am aware that can proudly and accurately state that NONE of its membership has consumed any marijuana or any other illicit drug at any time in the most recent two-year period is my own religion.
That fully independent and non-proselytizing religious denomination, a religion for the very honorable that has very strict membership-eligibility requirements, is my one-member (myself, only, at present) and non-Christian Progressive Prohibitionist Religion----a fully independent new religion in Austin, Texas, that is itself not affiliated in any way with any other religion or any other civic or religious group or any educational-services institution or media company.
My own one-member Progressive Prohibitionist Religion has such an outstanding record for being an illicit-drug-free denomination, in fact, that my fully independent new religion for the very honorable strictly prohibits any person with a previous addiction to marijuana or any other illicit drug from ever at any time qualifying to become an approved official member of my denomination.
