Dear Austin Police Department Open Records Unit Officials,

Thank you for your reply letter informing me that my public-information request (final item, below) was too "vague" to elicit a reply letter providing me with any responsive legal documents.

I am hereby resubmitting that request with the following revised text of my new request for information:

“I am seeking a copy of an APD job-duties description for the highest-ranking current APD officer who as part of his or her official job duties is assigned the role of investigating or presiding over the investigation of home-invasion-crimes cases in Austin, Texas, that also involve violent personal-injury crimes. I am also seeking an APD report or FBI report currently on file with the Office of the Austin Chief of Police that cites the total number of alleged home-invasion-crimes in Austin, Texas, in calendar year 2020 that resulted in the arrest of an actual crime suspect."

Thank you again for your reply letter. I hope to hear from you soon in response to this revised public-information request from myself.

Sincerely and Best Wishes,

John Kevin McMillan, public-information requestor.
8805 North Plaza Drive, Apt. 2418, Austin, TX 78753.
Home phone: (512) 342-2295.
Cell phone: (512) 993-7305.

Re: Open Record Request of April 06, 2021, Reference # R056344-040621

Dear Mr. John Kevin McMillan,

The Austin Police Department (APD) received a Public Information request from you on April 06, 2021, to request copies of records pertaining to the following:

“Ten or fewer pages of legal documents currently on file with Austin Police (APD) that refer to the arrest by one or more APD officers of at least one crime suspect for alleged continuous home-invasion crimes that were allegedly inflicted on one or more cited crime victims over a multi-day period, multi-week period, multi-month period, or multi-year period during their sleeping hours as they lay asleep and unconscious on their bed or beds inside their locked rental-apartment unit, locked rental home, or locked home in Austin, Texas.”

Your request requires the department to compile unspecified records and is considered a vague request. Open records does not do research or create documents that do not exist.

Thank you for contacting the Austin Police Department.
