I felt my eyes moisten today as I read this very moving account about "National Sons Day", March 4, having been established by a woman---and I assume she is a very conscientious mother, but so far I haven't found additional biographical information about her other than her name----in 2018.
Additional information on this comes from https://nationaldaycalendar.com/national-sons-day-march-4/ , and I quote directly from one total paragraph of that 2020-copyrighted online website of the National Day Calendar organization that has a cited mailing address of 712 West Main Street, Mandan, ND 58554 USA:
"In 2018, Jill Nico created National Sons Day celebrating the importance and significations of sons and those who raise them. While there’s no single reason for selecting March 4th, the founder explains spring seemed ideal, and the date resounds with momentum when spoken. Additionally, many sons enjoy spring sports, and it’s an excellent time to spend time outdoors."
Additional confirmation about that wonderful annual day of celebration is provided by the National Day Archives, an organization apparently headquartered in Virginia. The link below offers more details.
I have today registered with the National Day Archives for year-round updates about upcoming national-celebration-day events. That is invaluable information for anyone pursuing a religious life or anyone employed in the restaurant industry or in journalism.
I need to do some factual research to find out whether the news media here in this state capital city for Texas in late February of this year or from March 1 to March 4 of this year publicized "National Sons Day" to families---including single-parent households---throughout this metro area. That advance publicity would have helped to boost metrowide observance of "National Sons Day" here in the Austin area of Texas.
I am very hopeful that anyone not aware of "National Sons Day" who happens to read this Facebook post will explore the link below and plan ahead for next year toward the goal of offering a very fine day of recognition in 2021 for their sons or stepsons in the springtime.
Many Americans celebrate both their sons and daughters on August 11 of each year. That day is being celebrated each year as "National Sons and Daughters Day" ---- something that Central Texans might want to plan ahead for this month.
It seems to me that there should also be an annual celebration of a "National Daughters Day" throughout the United States. However, I was not able to find confirmation of any such annual event taking place in the USA.
