URGENT NEED FOR NEW PRESIDENTIAL COMMISSION ASKED TO DEVELOP IDEAS ON HOW TO REDUCE INJURY RATE IN PRO FOOTBALL, COLLEGE FOOTBALL, AND HIGH-SCHOOL FOOTBALL BY 50 PERCEN/T

Regardless of who gets elected U.S. President on November 8, and Mrs. Hillary Clinton currently appears to be that individual, I am very hopeful the new U.S. President will make a courageous nationally televised public statement about being appalled by the alarmingly high injury rate in professional football and college football, and in high school football.

That incoming U.S. President in their first month as our nation's head of state could then appoint a new Presidential Commission to develop specific public-policy recommendations and other ideas on how the injury rate in the National Football League, college football, and high-school football could be cut in half as soon as possible.

Reduced injuries in professional football would help protect the medical health and well-being of the football players. It would also greatly enhance viewers' confidence in the game, which would be very good for football and American society.

One tentative idea that I feel would help in professional football is if the National Football League (NFL) were to establish a special independently endowed income-supplement program that would offer a generous financial award to each applicable player and coach and trainer of an NFL team----an award that rewards any NFL team for each and every pre-season, regular-season, or post-season game involving that team as a participant in which no player from either NFL team competing in that football game sustained an injury that sidelined him from playing at any time in the remainder of that game.
